Standard Eco Room
All-inclusive + excursions, for up to 3 people
In the Indigenous village of Redi Doti, on the Suriname River, time runs a little differently. The morning sound isn't traffic, it's the rainforest. The neighbours are Carib and Arawak families who have lived here for generations. And you're not just a tourist here. You're a guest of the community.
Eco Resort Miano offers accommodation in the back-to-basics tradition: simple, clean and exactly enough. But the real story starts outside the door.
During the day you explore the area by bike, take a river trip with a local guide, or learn how to bake cassava bread. Jodensavanne is within cycling distance — once the heart of the largest Jewish plantation community in the Americas, now a place where ruins and rainforest are slowly taking each other in. You visit Uncle Ferdinand on his pineapple plantation in Pierre Kondre and see how Coöperatie Asajaka Weno turns the fruit into the juices that keep the village going.
When the sun is at its highest you cool off in the pool, or walk seven minutes to the village beach on the Suriname River. In the evening you eat Surinamese food in the resort's own restaurant and pull up a stool at the local bar. If you're lucky there's a live dance and music performance in traditional Indigenous dress.

Redi Doti sits on the Suriname River, an Indigenous village where the day keeps its own pace. What wakes you isn't traffic but the forest itself. Your neighbours here are Carib and Arawak families whose roots in this place go back generations, and you arrive not as a passing visitor but as a guest of the community.

One-bedroom apartment
Warm beige tones, your own entrance and a small terrace by the door. Nosa's Guesthouse isn't a hotel, it's a place that feels like having a house of your own in Paramaribo. Years ago the owner, Mariëlle, lived here with her family. After they moved she decided to keep the property, first renting it to locals, later converting it for holidaymakers. It took a major renovation, but her creativity did the rest. Three self-contained spaces came out of it, each with complete privacy. The name Nosa's Guesthouse comes from her daughter Inoça's pet name, and Inoça still lives in the rear apartment. A familiar face if you need anything, without being on top of you. The front garden is shared. The rest is entirely yours.
