1. What is Grietjebie?

Grietjebie is an online travel platform that acts as an intermediary between travellers and tour operators, accommodation providers and other travel suppliers in Suriname. Grietjebie is not a tour operator and is not responsible for the delivery of tours, accommodation or activities. That responsibility lies with the partner concerned.

The contract for the delivery of a tour, stay or activity is concluded between you and the partner. Grietjebie acts as intermediary and handles the booking, the payment and the communication.

2. Bookings

A booking is confirmed once payment confirmation has been received. You will receive a confirmation by email. Grietjebie reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking in the event of technical errors, incorrect pricing or force majeure. If payment has already been made, you will receive a full refund in that case.

3. Cancellation and refunds

Grietjebie's cancellation terms apply to the cancellation of a booking. For a full overview of cancellation charges, our refund policy and exceptions, please see our cancellation terms.

4. Right of withdrawal

The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to leisure services that are carried out on a specific date or within a specific period. This follows from Article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code. Only the cancellation terms therefore apply to tours, stays and activities booked through Grietjebie.

5. Payment

Payments are processed through Stripe. All prices include VAT unless stated otherwise. Grietjebie charges the customer a service fee of €10 per booking. This fee covers platform administration and secure payment processing and is non-refundable.

6. Liability

Grietjebie is not liable for damage arising from the delivery of tours, accommodation or other services by partners. Grietjebie is likewise not liable for incorrect information provided by partners. Grietjebie's maximum liability is limited to the amount of the booking concerned. This limitation does not apply in cases of intent, deliberate recklessness, or personal injury.

7. Traveller's responsibilities

You are responsible for valid travel documents, any visas, vaccinations and appropriate travel and cancellation insurance. Before departure, check the travel advice for Suriname issued by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On tours in the interior, partners expect you to follow the guide's instructions.

8. Platform content

Grietjebie aims to provide accurate and current information on the platform. We cannot, however, guarantee that all information is complete and correct at all times. Images are for illustrative purposes.

9. Intellectual property

All text, photographs, design and other content on this platform are the property of Siadis Media or of the partners that supplied the material. Reproduction without prior written permission is not permitted. Grietjebie^® is a registered trademark.

10. Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. This does not affect the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
